Amanda Hyatt has been a professional watercolour artist for 40 years. She has had 40 solo exhibitions, with international exhibitions in New York and China where she was described as a ‘Master of Watercolour’ and an ‘International Master of ‘En Plein Air Painting’. For the past twelve years Amanda has taken Travelrite International painting workshop holidays to places such as Antarctica, Europe (France, Italy and Mediterranean Cruises) and the UK. She has won most major Australian watercolour awards and is a long-term member of both the Twenty Melbourne Painters Society and the Australian Watercolour Institute. Amanda has five teaching DVDs and her book Watercolour Tonal Impressionism is a best seller. Amanda is passionate about the art of watercolour and pushes the boundaries herself in discovering how to make a ‘piece of art’ rather than ‘just a painting’.

DAY 1 Saturday 15 March, 2025

Tour members will commence their journey
from Sydney Domestic Airport at 12.00pm noon,
beginning with a brief but captivating sightseeing
tour of Sydney’s iconic landmarks. From the majestic
Sydney Harbour Bridge to the architectural marvel
of the Sydney Opera House, and the vibrant
ambiance of Darling Harbour, you will be treated to
a glimpse of the city’s most renowned attractions.
Following the tour, we will be taken to our workshop
hotel in the late afternoon. Tonight, we will come
together to savour an inclusive welcome dinner.
DAY 2 Sunday 16 March, 2025
Sydney
Today promises a day brimming with artistic
inspiration as we delve into painting amidst the
historic charm of Sydney’s Rocks area. This locale
holds a rich tapestry of heritage, being not only the
traditional land of the Gadigal people but also the
site of Australia’s inaugural European settlement.
Amanda will start with a demonstration followed by
individual tuition.
DAY 3 Monday 17 March, 2025
Sydney
This morning, we embark on a Sydney harbour
cruise to explore what is often hailed as the most
stunning harbour in the world. In the afternoon,
Amanda will lead a painting session, as we paint the
picturesque Sydney Harbour.
DAY 4 Tuesday 18 March, 2025
Sydney
A full day of painting in beautiful Sydney.
Renowned artist Amanda will start the day with
a demonstration, displaying her expertise and
techniques. Following the demonstration, each
workshop member will receive personalised
attention from Amanda and invaluable insights.
DAY 5 Wednesday 19 March, 2025
Sydney
This morning, we will visit The Art Gallery of New
South Wales, one of Australia’s premier public
galleries. With a rich history dating back to 1874, the
gallery has a magnificent site on Sydney Harbour.
In the afternoon, there will be a painting session at
Observatory hill.
DAY 6 Thursday 20 March, 2025
Katoomba, NSW
Today we travel to the majestic Blue Mountains,
a sprawling expanse intertwined with the Great
Dividing Range. Recognized as one of Australia’s 15
World Heritage sites listed in the National Heritage
List, this natural wonderland beckons with its
rugged beauty and ancient allure. Our accommodation awaits in Katoomba, a
charming town renowned for its striking Art
Deco architecture. This evening there will be
an included dinner.
DAY 7 Friday 21 March, 2025
Katoomba
A full day painting amidst the scenic beauty of
Katoomba. This morning, we travel to the iconic
Echo Point lookout for a painting session. Upon
reaching Echo Point, prepare to be spellbound by
the awe-inspiring sight of the Three Sisters, standing
sentinel against the backdrop of the vast Blue
Mountains. In the afternoon, there will be a painting
session near the hotel.
DAY 8 Saturday 22 March, 2025
Katoomba
This morning, we travel to the awe-inspiring Jenolan
Caves, where we will embark on a tour of the Orient
Cave. Delve into the depths of this natural wonder,
marvelling at the intricate formations and ancient
beauty concealed within its labyrinthine passages.
In the afternoon, we travel to the charming village of
Hartley for a painting session.
DAY 9 Sunday 23 March, 2025
Katoomba
Today, our journey leads us to Faulconbridge, where
we will uncover the treasures housed within The
Norman Lindsay Gallery. The gallery pays homage
to the prolific artist and writer Norman Lindsay
(1879-1969), renowned for his iconic creation,
The Magic Pudding. Following our exploration
of the gallery’s treasures there will be a painting
session. Surrounded by the tranquil beauty of
Faulconbridge, we will draw inspiration from the
lush gardens and scenic vistas.
DAY 10 Monday 24 March, 2025
Katoomba
Nestled within a serene valley along the banks of the
Hawkesbury River lies Tizzana Winery, a picturesque
gem renowned for its tranquil ambiance and rich
heritage. Here, amidst the rolling hills and lush
vineyards, we will indulge in a delightful wine
tasting experience, savouring the distinct flavours
and aromas of locally crafted vintages. Following
our tasting, we will gather for a leisurely light lunch,
followed by a day of painting amidst the idyllic
surroundings of the vineyard.
DAY 11 Tuesday 25 March, 2025
Katoomba
Today, our journey takes us to the picturesque
Wentworth Falls, where the stunning three-tiered
waterfall, fed by the gentle flow of Jamison Creek.
Surrounded by the natural beauty of this tranquil
setting near the town of Wentworth Falls, we will
immerse ourselves in a morning dedicated to
painting amidst the wonders of nature.
Amanda will start the day with a demonstration,
offering valuable insights and techniques. In
the afternoon, there will be a painting session at
Leura Falls.
DAY 12 Wednesday 26 March, 2025
Katoomba
Today we will enjoy a day of painting in Katoomba
lead by Amanda Hyatt. Amanda will find a painting
location amidst the stunning landscapes of the
Blue Mountains. This afternoon we will come
together for a final critique session, providing an
opportunity to reflect on our progress and celebrate
our accomplishments. We will gather for an inclusive
farewell dinner, sharing laughter, stories of our time
together in New South Wales.
DAY 13 Thursday 27 March, 2025

This morning workshop members will be transferred
to Sydney airport for passengers travelling on flights
departing after 1.00pm.

Touring can involve a considerable amount of walking and stair climbing in the places visited and it is important that all tour participants have a level of physical fitness that allows them to take part in this activity without the need of assistance from others.
1. Payment Conditions:
A reservation deposit of $500 per person is required at the
time of booking. Final payment is due 60 days prior to the
date of departure. A 1.5% administration charge will be added
to payments by Visa, Mastercard and Amex.
2. Alteration to Workshop Vacation Price:
The Painting Workshop Vacation price is subject to change
in the event of unforeseen circumstances and changes in
the cost of travel and accommodation services. Should any
increase in the Workshop Vacation price be unacceptable
to the registered member, a full refund of monies paid will
be made.
3. Cancellation and Amendments:
* Cancellation conditions don’t apply for clients with future cruise/tour credits. Cruise/tour credits are non-refundable.
Cancellations received in writing 60 or more days from the
date of departure will result in a cancellation fee of $500
per person. Cancellations received 60 or fewer days before
departure will result in a loss of all monies paid. There are no
refunds for services not utilized while on a Workshop Vacation.
Travel insurance is highly recommended to cover Workshop
members for the consequences of unforeseen events during
the Workshop Vacation and for cancellation fees that could
result from illness, accident, death or other contingencies.
Once a booking has been confirmed, one amendment to
travel arrangements will be made free-of charge. Subsequent
changes to travel arrangements will incur an amendment fee
of $25 per change in addition to supplier charges.
4. Minimum Workshop Vacation Numbers:
Each Painting Workshop Vacation has been priced on the
basis of a minimum number of members travelling. In the event that fewer than the minimum number of members
have confirmed their booking 60 days from the date of
commencement, Travelrite International reserves the right to
cancel the Workshop Vacation, giving a full refund of monies
paid, or to offer arrangements to proceed with the Workshop
Vacation at a modified price.
5. General:
In the unlikely event that the Workshop tutor is unable to
perform his or her duties due to unforeseen contingencies,
Travelrite International reserves the right to substitute
another artist as tutor or to continue with the Workshop
Vacation as planned or to provide a cash refund to Workshop
members equivalent to the value of the Workshop leadership.
International Artist Painting Workshops can involve a
considerable amount of walking and stair-climbing in the
regions visited and it is important that all members have a
level of physical fitness that allows them to take part in these
activities without the need of assistance from others.
6. Tax Considerations:
If you regularly sell your own paintings, you may fall into
the semi-professional or professional category for taxation
purposes and the tour cost may be tax-deductible. We
recommend that you seek the advice of a qualified tax
adviser.
7. Responsibilities:
Travelrite International Pty Ltd., their agents, officers, affiliates,
and/or suppliers of services pursuant to or in connection with
these Workshop Vacations shall act only as agents in making
arrangements for hotels, transportation, restaurants, or any
other service and do not assume any liability whatsoever for
any injury, damage, death, loss, accident or delay to person
or property due to an act of negligence or of default of any
hotel, carrier, restaurant, company or person rendering any services included in the Workshops, or by act of God. Further,
no responsibilities are accepted for any damage or delay due
to sickness, pilferage, labor disputes, machinery breakdown,
quarantine, government restraints, weather, terrorism,
or other causes beyond their control. No responsibility is
accepted for any additional expenses, omissions, delays,
rerouting or acts of any government or authority. Baggage
remains at owner’s risk throughout the Workshop Vacation.
The passage contract in use by the carriers concerned, when
issued, shall constitute the sole contract between the carriers
and the purchasers of these Painting Workshop Vacations
and/or the passengers. The right is reserved to withdraw any
Painting Workshop Vacation and/or to make such changes in
the Painting Workshop Vacation as may be found desirable
for the convenience of the parties and the proper carrying
out of the Painting Workshop Vacation. Registration for any
Painting Workshop Vacation constitutes a contract which
shall be construed in accordance with the laws of the State of
Victoria, Australia and any legal action must be taken in the
State of Victoria.
