Robyn Collier has over 40 years of painting experience and is regarded as one of Australia’s foremost wilderness artists – preferring to paint the natural world and aspects of it. She has conducted workshops throughout Australia and New Zealand for the past 12 years, published many articles, held over 30 exhibitions and made numerous television appearances. Her work has won multiple awards and is in prestigious collections in most countries in the world. She has taken part in many ‘Artist-in-Residence’ programs – both on the mainland of Australia’s and many remote islands. Robyn’s philosophy is simple – “I want to show people the magic of the natural world through my work.”

Workshop members will be warmly greeted at
Queenstown airport at 3:00 pm and transferred
to our workshop hotel. Nestled on the shores of
the mesmerizing Lake Wakatipu, Queenstown is
embraced by snow-capped mountains, creating
a picturesque setting. The group will meet for
welcome drinks and an included dinner, creating
the perfect atmosphere to unwind, connect, and
embrace the beauty of Queenstown, a jewel in the
heart of New Zealand’s stunning landscapes.
DAY 2 Wednesday 5 March 2025
Queenstown
This morning, we embark on a serene cruise on the
crystal-clear waters of Lake Wakatipu. The leisurely
voyage is a visual feast, treating us to the aweinspiring
alpine scenery that defines Queenstown’s
charm. In the afternoon Robyn, our guide in the
world of oils, will paint a demonstration, setting the
tone for an afternoon filled with artistic inspiration.

DAY 3 Thursday 6 March 2025

A full day of painting in beautiful Queenstown
in the captivating surroundings of Queenstown,
where majestic mountains frame the pristine
shores of Lake Wakatipu. This evening we will
walk to the Gondola, where we will ascend to the
summit of Bob’s Peak. The panoramic views that
unfold are nothing short of spectacular, offering a
mesmerizing tapestry of the lake and mountains
as they stretch into the horizon. We will enjoy an
included dinner, savouring the flavours of the
region while surrounded by the natural beauty that
Queenstown offers.

Embark on a scenic journey to Glenorchy, a town
embraced by the grandeur of Mount Aspiring
National Park, a designated World Heritage Area.
Renowned as the gateway to New Zealand’s most
splendid landscapes, Glenorchy offers a visual feast
for both artists and nature enthusiasts alike.
For the non-painters, there are many walks with
panoramic vistas of sweeping valleys and majestic
peaks. Meanwhile, painters under the guidance
of Robyn will be treated to a demonstration,
capturing the essence of Glenorchy’s awe-inspiring
beauty. With Robyn’s assistance, each tour member
can bring their own artistic visions to life. We will
enjoy a light included lunch in Glenorchy.

Today we travel to Arrowtown. Arrowtown
stands as a living testament to its golden past,
offering a perfect backdrop for a day of painting.
The town’s historic streets, framed by the majestic
Southern Alps, provide a rich palette of subjects for
artists to capture. As you paint, immerse yourself in
the ambiance of a bygone era, where the spirit of
the gold rush lingers in the air.

This morning we travel to Lake Tekapo, a stunning
destination known for its breathtaking scenery and
unique turquoise-coloured water. The township,
situated on the northern shore of the lake, offers
spectacular views of the Southern Alps, creating a
picturesque setting.

In addition to the natural beauty, Lake Tekapo is
home to the iconic Church of the Good Shepherd,
situated on the lake’s edge. This charming church
is one of the most photographed sights in the
country. We will enjoy a full day of painting at
Lake Tekapo.

Lake Tekapo
Today we make our way to Aoraki for a full day of painting (weather permitting). Aoraki also known as Mount Cook, proudly claims its title as the highest peak in New Zealand, standing regally in the Aoraki/Mount Cook National Park on the South Island. Soaring to an elevation of 3,724 metres, this majestic peak is ensconced by glaciers, turquoise lakes, and the breathtaking panorama of alpine landscapes.

This morning we enjoy a picturesque journey to the town of Wanaka. Nestled against the alpine backdrop of Mount Aspiring National Park, Lake Wanaka is as a spectacular destination. On the way we will stop for a painting session. There will be an included dinner this evening.

Embark on a journey to the historic Cardrona Hotel, nestled in the picturesque landscapes of the Cardrona Valley. Dating back to 1863, this iconic establishment stands as one of New Zealand’s oldest hotels, surrounded by the rolling hills that define the Cardrona region. The Cardrona Hotel becomes our artistic haven for a day of painting. There will be an included dinner this evening.

Wanaka
Our final painting session this morning will be painting in Wanaka. There will be some free time in the afternoon before we gather for a final critique
session, an opportunity to reflect on the unique perspectives and creations that emerged during our time in Wanaka. To mark this special occasion, we will come together for an included dinner, sharing stories, insights, and the camaraderie.

1. Payment Conditions:
A reservation deposit of $500 per person is required at the time of booking. Final payment is due 60 days prior to the date of departure. A 1.5% administration charge will be added to payments by Visa, Mastercard and Amex.
2. Alteration to Workshop Vacation Price:
The Painting Workshop Vacation price is subject to change in the event of unforeseen circumstances and changes in the cost of travel and accommodation services. Should any increase in the Workshop Vacation price be unacceptable to the registered member, a full refund of monies paid will be made.
3. Cancellation and Amendments:
Cancellations received in writing 60 or more days from the date of departure will result in a cancellation fee of $500 per person. Cancellations received 60 or fewer days before departure will result in a loss of all monies paid. There are no refunds for services not utilized while on a Workshop Vacation. Travel insurance is highly recommended to cover Workshop members for the consequences of unforeseen events during the Workshop Vacation and for cancellation fees that could result from illness, accident, death or other contingencies. Once a booking has been confirmed, one amendment to travel arrangements will be made free-of charge. Subsequent changes to travel arrangements will incur an amendment fee of $25 per change in addition to supplier charges
4. Minimum Workshop Vacation Numbers:
Each Painting Workshop Vacation has been priced on the basis of a minimum number of members travelling. In the event that fewer than the minimum number of members have confirmed their booking 60 days from the date of commencement, Travelrite International reserves the right to cancel the Workshop Vacation, giving a full refund of monies paid, or to offer arrangements to proceed with the Workshop Vacation at a modified price.
5. General:
In the unlikely event that the Workshop tutor is unable to perform his or her duties due to unforeseen contingencies, Travelrite International reserves the right to substitute another artist as tutor or to continue with the Workshop Vacation as planned or to provide a cash refund to Workshop members equivalent to the value of the Workshop leadership. International Artist Painting Workshops can involve a considerable amount of walking and stair-climbing in the regions visited and it is important that all members have a level of physical fitness that allows them to take part in these activities without the need of assistance from others.
6. Tax Considerations:
If you regularly sell your own paintings, you may fall into the semi-professional or professional category for taxation purposes and the tour cost may be tax-deductible. We recommend that you seek the advice of a qualified tax adviser.
7. Responsibilities:
Travelrite International Pty Ltd., their agents, officers, affiliates, and/or suppliers of services pursuant to or in connection with these Workshop Vacations shall act only as agents in making arrangements for hotels, transportation, restaurants, or any other service and do not assume any liability whatsoever for any injury, damage, death, loss, accident or delay to person or property due to an act of negligence or of default of any hotel, carrier, restaurant, company or person rendering any services included in the Workshops, or by act of God. Further, no responsibilities are accepted for any damage or delay due to sickness, pilferage, labor disputes, machinery breakdown, quarantine, government restraints, weather, terrorism, or other causes beyond their control. No responsibility is accepted for any additional expenses, omissions, delays, rerouting or acts of any government or authority. Baggage remains at owner’s risk throughout the Workshop Vacation. The passage contract in use by the carriers concerned, when issued, shall constitute the sole contract between the carriers and the purchasers of these Painting Workshop Vacations and/or the passengers. The right is reserved to withdraw any Painting Workshop Vacation and/or to make such changes in the Painting Workshop Vacation as may be found desirable for the convenience of the parties and the proper carrying-out of the Painting Workshop Vacation. Registration for any Painting Workshop Vacation constitutes a contract which shall be construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Victoria, Australia and any legal action must be taken in the State of Victoria.
