Distinguished artist, David Taylor, has exhibited with the world’s major watercolour societies and has gained international acclaim through winning many important awards from all over the world. David was the Victorian Artists Society “Artist of the Year” in 1976, 1980 and 1989. In the early 1980s, David received the Australian watercolourists’ ultimate accolade when he was elected to the elite Australian Watercolour Institute. He is respected worldwide for his painting and instruction on the art of watercolour. David’s warmth and charm ensure that whenever he is listed as a tutor, his workshops immediately fill, so make sure you book in early.

DAY 1 Tuesday 11 November 2025

Our workshop adventure begins as members
meet at the Travelrite Balwyn office at 12:00
pm or Melbourne Airport at 1:00 pm. Today’s
journey takes us to the picturesque town of
Bright, celebrated for its beauty throughout
every season. Later in the afternoon, the group
will come together for a welcome drink’s party
followed by an included dinner, offering a taste
of the culinary delights that await us in this
charming destination.
DAY 2 Wednesday 12 November 2025
Bright
Today’s painting session unfolds in the
picturesque setting of Bright. David, our skilled
artist, will commence the session with an
insightful demonstration, providing valuable
insights into techniques and artistic approaches.
Following the demonstration, David will offer
hands-on assistance, guiding workshop members
in their individual artistic pursuits. Tonight we will
enjoy an included dinner.
DAY 3 Thursday 13 November 2025
Bright
This morning, we set our sights on Mt Buffalo
National Park for a full day of painting. The
majestic Mount Buffalo greets us with its sheer
cliffs, imposing granite tors, cascading waterfalls,
and the vibrant hues of snow gums and
wildflowers. In the spring, the park transforms
into a haven of wildflowers, offering a cool retreat
from the heat of the lowlands. Tonight we will
enjoy an included dinner.
DAY 4 Friday 14 November 2025

This morning, our journey takes us to the
charming town of Beechworth, a jewel that has
preserved the essence of Victoria’s gold rush era.
Once one of Australia’s wealthiest gold fields,
Beechworth’s Historic and Cultural Precinct
still resonates with remarkable architecture.
Over 30 buildings, including hotels, churches,
miners’ cottages, and the historic gaol where
the infamous bushranger Ned Kelly was
once imprisoned, stand as a testament to the
town’s rich history. Beechworth is a haven for
architectural enthusiasts, offering a glimpse into
the past through the lens of the National Trust’s
listed buildings. Beechworth is also
renowned for its Beechworth Bakery, a
delightful stop where you might savour
one of their delicious pies or cakes for
lunch. David will start the day with a painting
demonstration, followed by individual
attention, ensuring that each workshop
member receives personalized guidance to
capture the charm of Beechworth. Tonight we
will enjoy an included dinner.

the stunning backdrop of Bright. Our talented
artist, David, will find fantastic subjects, offering
a diverse and inspiring array for you to paint.
With the vibrant atmosphere and natural
beauty of Bright, let your creativity flow and
capture the essence of this picturesque town
under David’s guidance. Tonight we will enjoy
an included dinner.
DAY 6 Sunday 16 November 2025

Today’s artistic adventure takes us to
Wandiligong and its surrounding areas for
a captivating day of painting. Nestled just 6
kilometres south of the Alpine holiday town of
Bright, Wandiligong unfolds as a small historic
village with a rich past. During the mid-1850s,
Wandiligong witnessed a small but bustling
gold rush, causing the town’s population to
soar to over 2,000. Today, the entire town is a
testament to its historical significance, registered
with the National Trust as a classified landscape.
TOUR
Wandiligong boasts a wealth of historical
buildings, including the iconic Manchester Unity
public hall constructed in 1874, a general store,
various churches, and charming cottages that
add to the town’s quaint allure. Tonight we will
enjoy an included dinner.
DAY 7 Monday 17 November 2025

A full day of watercolour painting awaits in
the scenic town of Bright, under the expert
guidance of David. Let the vibrant hues
of Bright’s landscapes come to life in your

artistic journey, as you immerse yourself in the
beauty of this picturesque town. Tonight we will

DAY 8 Tuesday 18 November 2025

A delightful journey today, we travel to the
renowned King Valley, celebrated for its exquisite
wineries and scenic landscapes. We will visit
the Milawa Cheese Factory, a haven for cheese
enthusiasts, followed by a delectable lunch at
a local winery. Under David’s expert guidance,
the picturesque surroundings of the King Valley
will become your artistic playground. Whether
it is the rolling vineyards or the charming details
of the wineries, there will be an abundance of
beautiful subjects for you to paint. Tonight we
will enjoy an included dinner.
DAY 9 Wednesday 19 November 2025
Bright
We will have our final morning painting in the
scenic landscapes of Bright and its surroundings.
Under the guidance of David, seize this last
opportunity to capture the beauty of the area.
In the afternoon, we will come together for a
final critique session. We will enjoy an included
farewell dinner, a moment to cherish the
memories during our time in Bright. Tonight we
will enjoy an included dinner.
DAY 10 Thursday 20 November 2025
Bright
As we bid farewell to the picturesque town of
Bright, we travel to Melbourne Airport. Please
book your flights home after 2:30 pm. The coach
will then travel to the Travelrite office in Balwyn
and arrive around 2.00pm.

1. Payment Conditions:
A reservation deposit of $500 per person is required at the
time of booking. Final payment is due 60 days prior to the
date of departure. A 1.5% administration charge will be added
to payments by Visa, Mastercard and Amex.
2. Alteration to Workshop Vacation Price:
The Painting Workshop Vacation price is subject to change
in the event of unforeseen circumstances and changes in
the cost of travel and accommodation services. Should any
increase in the Workshop Vacation price be unacceptable
to the registered member, a full refund of monies paid will
be made.
3. Cancellation and Amendments:
Cancellations received in writing 60 or more days from the
date of departure will result in a cancellation fee of $500
per person. Cancellations received 60 or fewer days before
departure will result in a loss of all monies paid. There are no
refunds for services not utilized while on a Workshop Vacation.
Travel insurance is highly recommended to cover Workshop
members for the consequences of unforeseen events during
the Workshop Vacation and for cancellation fees that could
result from illness, accident, death or other contingencies.
Once a booking has been confirmed, one amendment to
travel arrangements will be made free-of charge. Subsequent
changes to travel arrangements will incur an amendment fee
of $25 per change in addition to supplier charges.
4. Minimum Workshop Vacation Numbers:
Each Painting Workshop Vacation has been priced on the
basis of a minimum number of members travelling. In the
event that fewer than the minimum number of members
have confirmed their booking 60 days from the date of
commencement, Travelrite International reserves the right to
cancel the Workshop Vacation, giving a full refund of monies
paid, or to offer arrangements to proceed with the Workshop
Vacation at a modified price.
5. General:
In the unlikely event that the Workshop tutor is unable to
perform his or her duties due to unforeseen contingencies,
Travelrite International reserves the right to substitute
another artist as tutor or to continue with the Workshop
Vacation as planned or to provide a cash refund to Workshop
members equivalent to the value of the Workshop leadership.
International Artist Painting Workshops can involve a
considerable amount of walking and stair-climbing in the
regions visited and it is important that all members have a
level of physical fitness that allows them to take part in these
activities without the need of assistance from others.
6. Tax Considerations:
If you regularly sell your own paintings, you may fall into
the semi-professional or professional category for taxation
purposes and the tour cost may be tax-deductible. We
recommend that you seek the advice of a qualified tax
adviser.
7. Responsibilities:
Travelrite International Pty Ltd., their agents, officers, affiliates,
and/or suppliers of services pursuant to or in connection with
these Workshop Vacations shall act only as agents in making
arrangements for hotels, transportation, restaurants, or any
other service and do not assume any liability whatsoever for
any injury, damage, death, loss, accident or delay to person
or property due to an act of negligence or of default of any
hotel, carrier, restaurant, company or person rendering any
services included in the Workshops, or by act of God. Further,
no responsibilities are accepted for any damage or delay due
to sickness, pilferage, labor disputes, machinery breakdown,
quarantine, government restraints, weather, terrorism,
or other causes beyond their control. No responsibility is
accepted for any additional expenses, omissions, delays,
rerouting or acts of any government or authority. Baggage
remains at owner’s risk throughout the Workshop Vacation.
The passage contract in use by the carriers concerned, when
issued, shall constitute the sole contract between the carriers
and the purchasers of these Painting Workshop Vacations
and/or the passengers. The right is reserved to withdraw any
Painting Workshop Vacation and/or to make such changes in
the Painting Workshop Vacation as may be found desirable
for the convenience of the parties and the proper carrying
out of the Painting Workshop Vacation. Registration for any
Painting Workshop Vacation constitutes a contract which
shall be construed in accordance with the laws of the State of
Victoria, Australia and any legal action must be taken in the
State of Victoria.
