



Annee is an award-winning artist, a highly qualified artist and teacher. She is a Fellow of both the Victorian Artists Society and the Guild of Realist Artists. Additionally, Annee has also been awarded the title of “Chevalier Academicienne” (translation: Master Watercolourist) by a French Art Association, based in Paris. She is also a member of the Watercolour Society of Victoria and the Melbourne Society of Women Painters and Sculptors, in addition to other art groups and societies. She is an avid En Plein Air painter and has been tutoring for over 30 years, imparting her knowledge and enthusiasm to her classes. Her classes are designed to cater for all skill levels. She is fluent in English and French (which is her native language) and is also conversant in Italian and Spanish. Annee has conducted 10 European workshops. She paints in a fluent and confident style, holds a strong sense of composition and sound draftsmanship and will tackle a wide variety of subject matter. Whilst painting in Pastel and Acrylic, her favourite medium remains Watercolour.
DAY 1: Tuesday 3 September 2024
Sarlat la Caneda
Workshop members will be met at Bordeaux airport
at 2:00pm and transferred by air-conditioned coach
through the stunning French countryside to the
charming Dordogne region. With its rolling hills,
lush greenery, and quaint villages, the journey
itself is a feast for the senses. We will stay in Sarlat
la Caneda, a medieval market town with narrow,
winding streets, gothic architecture, and renaissance
buildings that transport you back in time. During
our six nights here, you will have the opportunity
to paint under the guidance of Annee Kelly and
explore the town’s many charms. We will gather
tonight for a welcome drinks party, toasting to the
adventure that lies ahead.
DAY 2: Wednesday 4 September 2024
Sarlat la Caneda
This morning we will have a guided walking tour
of this fascinating town. The town grew up around
the Benedictine abbey founded in the middle
of the 9th century. Sarlat la Caneda reached its
peak during the 13th and 14th centuries. There
are houses full of charm all over the town, many
with attractive courtyards. The town is host to
interesting fairs and markets. We will see Maison de
la Boetie, one of the finest houses and Renaissance
building of 1525. Annee will start the first painting
session by painting a demonstration followed by
individual tuition. This evening the group will enjoy
an included welcome dinner.
DAY 3: Thursday 5 September 2024
Sarlat la Caneda
Explore the picturesque village of Loubressac,
renowned as one of the most beautiful villages
of France. Marvel at the stunning views, ochrecoloured
medieval houses, church and castle,
and be charmed by its vibrant floral displays
that have won numerous awards. Annee Kelly,
your expert painting instructor, will guide you
in a demonstration and provide individualized
assistance during the painting session. In
the afternoon, we will visit Autoire, another breathtaking village nestled in the Causses du
Quercy Regional Nature Park, known for its
majestic landscapes.
DAY 4: Friday 6 September 2024
Sarlat la Caneda
Experience a full day of painting and exploring in
Domme, a picturesque village perched high above
the Dordogne River, offering breathtaking views
of the surrounding countryside. Annee Kelly, our
talented painting instructor, will begin the day with
a painting demonstration, followed by personalized
instruction to help you enhance your painting skills.
You will have ample time to explore the village,
taking in the stunning vistas and capturing the
beauty of this unique location with your brush or
pen. This evening, there will be an included dinner.
DAY 5: Saturday 7 September 2024
Sarlat la Caneda
Experience the vibrant atmosphere of Sarlat’s market
day today with Annee. As you wander through the
bustling stalls, let the scents of fresh produce and
spices inspire you. Annee will be on hand to guide
you as you capture the colours and energy of the
market in your paintings. She will also give a painting
demonstration and provide personalized instruction
to each workshop member.
DAY 6: Sunday 8 September 2024
Sarlat la Caneda
Today, join us on a journey through the stunning
Dordogne region by your a private coach. In the
morning, we will explore the hilltop village of Beynacet-
Cazenac,where you will have the opportunity
to take in panoramic views of the Dordogne River
and the valley of the five castles. In the afternoon,
we will visit the picturesque town of La Roque-
Gageac, named one of the most beautiful villages
in France. Experience the town’s beauty from a
unique perspective as we travel on a traditional flatbottomed
boat, called a Gabare, along the Dordogne
River. With ancient manors and cliffs surrounding the
village, there will be endless inspiration for painters.
DAY 7: Monday 9 September 2024
Sarlat la Caneda
On your last day in Sarlat, join Annee Kelly for a half
day of painting and exploration in the beautiful
town of Sarlat la Caneda. Annee will begin the
day with a painting demonstration, followed by
individual tuition. In the afternoon, you will be able
to peruse the town at your leisure and if you so wish,
do a little shopping. In the evening, we will enjoy an
included dinner.
Day 8: Tuesday 10 September 2024
Aix en Provence
Today, we will travel to Aix en Provence, a city as
graceful as it is inspiring. Stroll through majestic
public squares adorned with trickling fountains, and
wander down shaded avenues perfumed with the
scent of lavender and rosemary. It was in these very
streets that Paul Cezanne painted some of his most
iconic works right here in Aix. In the evening, we will
gather for a delicious included dinner.
DAY 9: Wednesday 11 September 2024
Aix en Provence
This morning, we will explore the beautiful city of Aix
en Provence with a local guide who will share insights
about its rich history and cultural heritage. We will
visit key landmarks such as Atelier de Cezanne, where
the famous painter Paul Cézanne created many of his masterpieces. The tour will also take us to Vieux Aix, the charming old town with its grand mansions, tranquil squares, and picturesque fountains. Along the way, we will stroll down the stunning Cours Mirabeau, a boulevard lined with majestic plane trees and elegant fountains. After lunch, Annee will lead us to a scenic spot in town and demonstrate her techniques before providing personalized guidance and feedback as we create our own masterpieces.
DAY 10: Thursday 12 September 2024
Aix en Provence
Today, we will venture to the charming town of Jouques, known for its rich history and picturesque buildings. We will explore the town and see the 16th and 17th century houses, walkways, fountains and the ruins of a medieval chateau. The imposing church-sized chapel overlooking the village is also worth a visit. In the afternoon, we will head to Vauvenargues, where Pablo Picasso once resided. He fell in love with the Chateau de Vauvenargues and made it his permanent home in 1959. He was eventually interned there. This evening there will be an included dinner.
DAY 11: Friday 13 September 2024
Aix en Provence
This morning, we will take a short journey to the charming village of Ventabren, which offers stunning views of the surrounding countryside. Perched on top of a hill, the village is dominated by the ruins of the Chateau of Queen Jeanne, which provides a picturesque backdrop for a painting session. After a relaxing morning in Ventabren, we will return to Aix en Provence for an afternoon painting session. Annee will lead a demonstration and offer personal guidance and feedback as you work on your own masterpiece. You will have the opportunity to capture the city’s unique blend of old-world charm and modern sophistication, with its elegant mansions, tree-lined boulevards and vibrant street scenes.
DAY 12: Saturday 14 September 2024
Aix en Provence
Today, we have a full day of painting planned in the charming coastal town of La Ciotat. With its old fishing port, beautiful 17th century houses and Mediterranean atmosphere, there will be no shortage of inspiration for our brushes. Instructor Annee Kelly will be on hand to offer guidance and support, whether you are a beginner or a seasoned painter. During our lunch break, we will have a chance to explore the town and soak up its rich history, which dates back to Roman times.
DAY 13: Sunday 15 September 2024
Aix en Provence
On our final full day in Aix en Provence, Annee will begin with a painting demonstration in a picturesque location, followed by personalized instruction for each participant. Later in the day, there will be a final critique session with Annee, providing an opportunity to reflect on the skills and techniques learned throughout the workshop. We hope you will be delighted with the progress you have made under her guidance. In the evening, we will gather for a farewell dinner to commemorate the success of the workshop.
DAY 14: Monday 16 September 2024
Departure
It is time to bid Aix en Provence farewell. Following breakfast, we will transfer to Marseille airport for flights departing after midday. We hope you had a memorable and inspiring time with us.

1. Payment Conditions:
A reservation deposit of $500 per person is required at the time of booking. Final payment is due 60 days prior to the date of departure. A 1.5% administration charge will be added to payments by Visa, Mastercard and Amex.
2. Alteration to Workshop Vacation Price:
The Painting Workshop Vacation price is subject to change in the event of unforeseen circumstances and changes in the cost of travel and accommodation services. Should any increase in the Workshop Vacation price be unacceptable to the registered member, a full refund of monies paid will be made.
3. Cancellation and Amendments:
* Cancellation conditions don’t apply for clients with future cruise/tour credits. Cruise/tour credits are non-refundable.
Cancellations received in writing 60 or more days from the date of departure will result in a cancellation fee of $500 per person. Cancellations received 60 or fewer days before departure will result in a loss of all monies paid. There are no refunds for services not utilized while on a Workshop Vacation. Travel insurance is highly recommended to cover Workshop members for the consequences of unforeseen events during the Workshop Vacation and for cancellation fees that could result from illness, accident, death or other contingencies. Once a booking has been confirmed, one amendment to travel arrangements will be made free-of charge. Subsequent changes to travel arrangements will incur an amendment fee of $25 per change in addition to supplier charges.
4. Minimum Workshop Vacation Numbers:
Each Painting Workshop Vacation has been priced on the basis of a minimum number of members travelling. In the event that fewer than the minimum number of members have confirmed their booking 60 days from the date of commencement, Travelrite International reserves the right to cancel the Workshop Vacation, giving a full refund of monies paid, or to offer arrangements to proceed with the Workshop Vacation at a modified price.
5. General:
In the unlikely event that the Workshop tutor is unable to perform his or her duties due to unforeseen contingencies, Travelrite International reserves the right to substitute another artist as tutor or to continue with the Workshop Vacation as planned or to provide a cash refund to Workshop members equivalent to the value of the Workshop leadership. Painting Workshops can involve a considerable amount of walking and stair-climbing in the regions visited and it is important that all members have a level of physical fitness that allows them to take part in these activities without the need of assistance from others.
6. Tax Considerations:
If you regularly sell your own paintings, you may fall into the semi-professional or professional category for taxation purposes and the tour cost may be tax-deductible. We recommend that you seek the advice of a qualified tax adviser.
7. Responsibilities:
Travelrite International Pty Ltd., their agents, officers, affiliates, and/or suppliers of services pursuant to or in connection with these Workshop Vacations shall act only as agents in making arrangements for hotels, transportation, restaurants, or any other service and do not assume any liability whatsoever for any injury, damage, death, loss, accident or delay to person or property due to an act of negligence or of default of any hotel, carrier, restaurant, company or person rendering any services included in the Workshops, or by act of God. Further, no responsibilities are accepted for any damage or delay due to sickness, pilferage, labor disputes, machinery breakdown, quarantine, government restraints, weather, terrorism, or other causes beyond their control. No responsibility is accepted for any additional expenses, omissions, delays, rerouting or acts of any government or authority. Baggage remains at owner’s risk throughout the Workshop Vacation. The passage contract in use by the carriers concerned, when issued, shall constitute the sole contract between the carriers and the purchasers of these Painting Workshop Vacations and/or the passengers. The right is reserved to withdraw any Painting Workshop Vacation and/or to make such changes in the Painting Workshop Vacation as may be found desirable for the convenience of the parties and the proper carrying-out of the Painting Workshop Vacation. Registration for any Painting Workshop Vacation constitutes a contract which shall be construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Victoria, Australia and any legal action must be taken in the State of Victoria.
