DAY 2: Friday 2 May, 2025

Greg will start the painting program this morning in
Villefrance sur Mer, with a demonstration in a scenic
spot near the hotel. Following his lead, you will have

and mutual artistic exploration.
DAY 3: Saturday 3 May, 2025
Villefranche sur Mer
Today, we will travel to Antibes and visit the Picasso
Museum. It is unique because it is housed in the Old
Grimaldi Castle. Picasso had a studio there back in
1946 and in less than two months; he created 44
drawings and 23 paintings. Upon returning to Paris,
he left them in Antibes and later donated them to
the museum. Thereafter, they had enough of his works in order to rename the museum “Picasso
Museum” in 1966 and it was the first one in the
world specifically dedicated to him whilst he was
still alive. There will be a painting session in the
afternoon.
DAY 4: Sunday 4 May, 2025
Villefranche sur Mer
Today, workshop members will travel to Eze, a
charming hilltop village, the highest on the Côte
d’Azur. Its beautiful cobblestone streets, hot-pink
bougainvillea and amazing views will make great
subjects for a day’s painting
DAY 5: Monday 5 May, 2025
Villefranche sur Mer
Today we will travel to Vence by coach for a day of
painting. The small town of Vence is located some 25
kms to the north of Nice. The medieval walled cite
de Vence was built on a rocky ledge, surrounded by
its original fortifications and accessed by one of five
arched gateways. Greg will conduct a demonstration
and then spend time moving amongst the group
members, offering individual assistance.
DAY 6: Tuesday 6 May, 2025
Villefranche sur Mer
On our final day in beautiful Villefranche sur Mer.
Greg will start the day by painting a demonstration following by individual tuition. This evening
there will be an included dinner.
DAY 7: Wednesday 7 May, 2025
Avignon, France
Today we travel via private coach to the beautiful
town of Avignon, situated along the Rhône River.
Steeped in history, Avignon served as the seat of the
Catholic popes from 1309 to 1377, retaining its papal
influence until its integration into France in 1791.
The enduring legacy of this era is evident in the
grand Palais des Papes (Popes’ Palace) at the heart
of the city, enclosed by medieval stone ramparts.
We conclude the day with an included dinner,
embracing the cultural richness that surrounds us.
DAY 8: Thursday 8 May, 2025
Avignon
We start the day with a local guide leading us
through a captivating walking tour of Avignon.
Uncover the rich history of this UNESCO-listed
city, tracing its roots back to ancient Roman times.
Marvel at the panoramic views of the Rhône River
from the hilltop and explore the intricacies of the
Popes’ Palace, with its ornate chambers and chapels.
Later in the afternoon, Greg will conduct a painting
demonstration, followed by personalized teaching
sessions for each participant.
DAY 9: Friday 9 May, 2025
Avignon
Today, the group will spend the day painting within
the historic town of Avignon. Greg will be alongside
you as you capture the essence of impressive
subjects like the Palace of the Popes and the
charming corners of old Avignon.
DAY 10: Saturday 10 May, 2025
Avignon
Today we travel to Aix-en-Provence, a city that
epitomizes grace with its majestic public squares,
shaded avenues, and delightful fountains.
Renowned as one of France’s most elegant
destinations, Aix-en-Provence also holds historical
significance as the home and muse of Paul Cezanne.
The city’s allure extends to the very landscapes that
inspired Cezanne, making it a perfect setting for our
full day of painting.
DAY 11: Sunday 11 May, 2025
Avignon
A full day of painting and exploration through
the enchanting countryside of Provence. Our
destination is the delightful town of St Remy de
Provence, where you will have the opportunity
to visit the asylum where Vincent Van Gogh was
confined in 1889, a poignant chapter in art history
following his tumultuous split with Gauguin.
DAY12: Monday 12 May, 2025
Avignon
Our last day on our artistic sojourn in Avignon with
Greg providing valuable guidance on our last day of painting. A final critique session will be held late
afternoon, offering a reflective discussion on the
workshop’s accomplishments. To culminate our
creative journey, the group will gather for a farewell
dinner, celebrating the shared success of our artistic
endeavours.
