Day 1 Saturday 21 August 2010 Amsterdam
Workshop members will be met at Amsterdam airport at 2.00pm and transferred by private coach to our hotel in Amsterdam. (Please ensure you allow enough time to collect your luggage after your flight arrival in Amsterdam). Amsterdam is built around a network of pretty tree lined canals with over 1000 bridges. You can spend hours strolling around its old cobblestone streets and crooked houses. This evening the group will join together for a welcome drinks party.

Day 2: Sunday 22 August 2010 Embarkation
This morning Charles will start the painting program with a demonstration in beautiful Amsterdam. After lunch we will depart our hotel and travel to the port to board the Celebrity Constellation. This afternoon relax in your cabin or wander around and familiarize yourself with the ship. Be up on deck as the “Constellation” slips her moorings at 4:30pm for the start of our fabulous 12 night cruise.

Day 3: Monday 23 August 2010 At Sea
After breakfast Charles will lead his first painting demonstration on board the majestic Celebrity “Constellation”. Afterwards, Charles will move among the group assisting members individually. In the afternoon you may like to explore and enjoy the fantastic facilities and many activities available on the Celebrity Constellation.

Day 4: Tuesday 24 August 2010 Warnemunde, Germany
Located at the mouth of the Warnow River, Warnemünde is a charming old fishing town. Today Charles will lead the group to a good painting location where he will paint a demonstration and then assist workshop members with their individual work.

Day 5: Wednesday 25 August 2010 At Sea
After breakfast Charles will paint a demonstration and then move amongst the group assisting members individually.

Day 6: Thursday 26 August 2010 Stockholm, Sweden
This morning we call into the very beautiful city of Stockholm, capital of Sweden. We have a full day to explore the city with its rich cultural heritage. Stockholm covers 14 islands, and has no fewer than 50 scenic bridges. Stockholm’s seven hundred and fifty year history has produced many beautiful buildings and cultural treasures, which can be discovered in its fine museums. We will have a guided tour of the city, with a local guide, visiting the old centre of Stockholm, Gamla Stan with its Royal Palace and City Hall, the location of the Nobel Prize Award dinner each year. Stockholm is often regarded as the “Venice of the North” with its many waterways and the archipelago to the east.

Day 7: Friday 27 August 2010 Helsinki, Finland
This morning we will have a sightseeing tour of Helsinki, the capital of Finland followed by painting in the city centre. On the tour we see the modern architecture of the city, the Sibelius Monument and the modern underground Temppeliaukiojn church, which has been carved straight out of the bedrock. After lunch Charles will lead a group painting session and assist workshop members with their individual work.

Day 8: Saturday 28 August 2010 St Petersburg, Russia
We will be in for a special treat exploring beautiful St Petersburg. It was founded in 1703 by Peter the Great, who was determined to found a northern port with an unrestricted passage to the Baltic. Peter the Great was the first Tsar to travel to Europe. He returned with many ideas for reforms and different architectural styles. You will be able to immerse yourself in the priceless treasures of the Winter palace, home to the Hermitage Museum. During our guided tour today, we will visit the oldest part of the city: SS Peter and Paul Cathedral and fortress, the world famous Hermitage Palace with its wonderful art collection, and the city’s most famous theatre, the Mariinskiy.

Day 9: Sunday, 29 August 2010 St Petersburg, Russia
This morning we will be visiting the imperial palace at Tsarskoe Selo, the Catherine Palace, which was the summer residence to the Tsars. In the afternoon we will enjoy a painting session in this spectacular city. During our time at the Palace our local guide will show us many of the wonderful rooms including the Amber Room, the Green Dining Room and the Great Hall. There will also be time to see some of the formal gardens that are also a feature of this Palace.

Day 10: Monday 30 August 2010 Tallinn, Estonia
Today we arrive in the port of Tallinn, the capital of Estonia for a full day of painting. Tallinn is known for its historic medieval city with its cobblestone streets and gingerbread style houses. Charles will paint a demonstration and then move among the group to assist members in capturing all that Tallinn has to offer.

Day 11: Tuesday 31 August 2010 At Sea This morning
Charles will paint a demonstration and then move amongst the group assisting members individually. In the afternoon you may like to enjoy one of the many on-board activities.

Day 12: Wednesday 01 Sept 2010 Copenhagen, Denmark
After breakfast, our private coach will take us on a guided tour of this city, home of the world’s oldest monarchy. We will see the Amalienborg Palace, home of the royal family since 1794, which is guarded by its own sentries, Rosenborg castle, which is a 17th century castle, and houses the crown jewels. We will also see the Radhus, (city hall), Kongens Nytorv, a square circled by gracious old buildings, including the Royal Theatre and Charlottenborg, a 17th century Dutch Baroque palace. Of course, a visit to this wonderful city would not be complete without a visit to the Little Mermaid and also to Nyhaven known for its old sailing ships.

Day 13: Thursday 02 Sept 2010 At Sea
Our last day of painting at sea. This morning Charles will paint a demonstration and then move amongst the group assisting members individually. The afternoon will be free to enjoy the many activities the ship has to offer. This evening we will have our final critique session and farewell drinks.

Day 14: Friday 03 Sept 2010 Disembarkation
This morning we arrive at Amsterdam. After breakfast we disembark the ship and are then transferred to Amsterdam Airport to meet flights after departing after 2.00pm.
