the ultimate smorgasbord of fine wine, good food and spectacular scenery. Margaret River
also has a thriving arts scene, with an art or craft gallery on every corner. On arrival the
group will get together for an included welcome drinks party.
Day 2: Tuesday October 20, 2009 Margaret River

River. In the afternoon John will provide individual help to workshop members. Valuable
critique sessions will be held in the hotel every few days.

This morning we will travel to Augusta and Cape Leeuwin, where the Southern and Indian
Oceans meet. The cape, the most southwesterly point in Australia, has a rugged coastline
and a lighthouse built in 1895. John Lovett will find a great painting location close to the
lighthouse and show you how to tackle it.
Day 4: Thursday October 22, 2009 Margaret River
Today we will enjoy a day of painting at a Margaret River winery. There will be many
wonderful painting subjects for workshop members to capture. There will also be the
opportunity to savour the exceptional wine and an included lunch at the winery.
Day 5: Friday October 23, 2009 Pemberton
This morning we drive through the picturesque southern forest area to Pemberton.
Pemberton is a pretty timber town, located in the south west pocket of the state with
breathtaking forest scenery. The tall trees stretching skywards as far as the eye can see
are awe-inspiring. And in spring the forest floor transforms with a burst of colourful
wildflowers. On arrival in Pemberton we will head out to the Gloucester Tree towering
sixty-one metres above the ground. John will paint a demonstration and then provide
each workshop member individual attention. In the afternoon we will travel to our hotel
nestled on the edge of Lake Beedelup and surrounded by majestic Karri forest. We will
enjoy an included dinner at the hotel.
Day 6: Saturday October 24, 2009 Pemberton
Today we will paint around the beautiful setting of the hotel in the Karri Valley. John
will paint a demonstration and then provide each workshop member with individual
attention throughout the day. There will be many subjects to paint including the seasonal
wildflowers, the Karri forest and Lake Beedelup. The natural charm of the Karri Valley will
provide the perfect setting for today’s painting. This evening we have an included dinner
to say farewell to our new friends.
Day 7: Sunday October 25, 2009 Departure
After breakfast workshop members will be transferred to Perth airport for your return
flight home.
